Vladimir Coufal and Gianluca Scamacca Are Ruled Out Against Brentford

The Premier League match between West Ham United and Brentford will continue even without Gianluca Scamacca, Vladimir Coufal, and it’s probable that Angelo Ogbonna won’t participate too.

Scamacca’s season is over after he suffered a knee injury in March while on international duty, while Coufal is having trouble recovering from a hamstring injury he got in the team’s loss to Manchester City. Scamacca’s injury ended his season, and Coufal’s ailment is making it tough for him to recover. Because of the injury, Scamacca will not be able to participate in any further games this year.

Moyes has stated that the international player from the Czech Republic is now back to jogging and is confident about making a rapid recovery from his injury. However, the player will not be able to participate in the game that will take place on Sunday in west London.

David Moyes’ Statement On The Injury Update

According to Moyes, Ogbonna was sick and unable to play during the successful semi-final match of the Europa Conference League. As a result, Ogbonna was unable to contribute to the team’s achievement.

David Moyes the West Ham leader said, “He is starting to do some light jogging,” he said, as quoted by Ben Dinnery. “He has got a slight hamstring tweak but he is a boy who wants to play and wants to get back quickly.” He further added, “I am not sure yet. He [Ogbonna] has come in this morning and is not feeling great. We will have to see how he is.”

Huge Blow For West Ham

The team has been playing without Scamacca for some time now, but in that time, Michail Antonio has stepped up to the plate and is having the best season scoring goals of his career up to this point. He is now enjoying the best season scoring goals of his career.

The absence of Ogbonna, on the other hand, is troublesome since it has resulted in the return of Kurt Zouma to central defence. Additionally, the injury sustained by Coufal has resulted in some reorganisation of the defensive unit. Ben Johnson is yet another strong choice, while Thilo Kehrer has done an outstanding job stepping in and has been a force down the wing in the meantime.

However, since neither player is a natural wing-back and Coufal is possibly the best of the bunch when playing in a more conventional back four, Moyes loses the flexibility to play with a back five if he so chooses. This is because neither player is a natural wing-back.

The Hammers could use a healthy Angelo Ogbonna and the return of Sofiane Coufal for the semi-finals the following week, but they need to win their match against Brentford in order to assure that they will remain in the Premier League.
