Declan Rice will get an improved offer from Arsenal that would be nearly on par with West Ham’s £100 million value of the midfielder. West Ham rejected Arsenal’s initial offer of £80 million plus add-ons for Rice and is now anticipating Manchester City to make a counteroffer. However, the 24-year-old is still adamant about joining Mikel Arteta’s team. It is anticipated that he will go to the Emirates Stadium.
West Ham wants to pay a record amount for Rice and plans to reject any offers that are less than £100 million because they want Arsenal to match that amount and include add-ons. The initial offer from Arsenal was spaced out over several years and included add-ons that West Ham deemed unfeasible.
Since, it would improve their financial situation, West Ham would prefer fewer installments. The club has the impression that Arsenal’s second offer would still include add-ons that are unlikely to be activated.
Declan Rice has become a “must needed” player in the Europe
A bidding battle would benefit West Ham because, according to a source, a City offer would “blow Arsenal out of the water.” Before the season ended, Rice met with Pep Guardiola, and the possibility of City entering the race might make things more difficult for Arteta.
The champs were supposed to avoid making a significant investment in a defensive midfielder because of Rodri’s performance. There have been rumours that City would trade Rice for Rice while giving Kalvin Phillips to West Ham.
Rice is likely to swap teams despite the escalating hostilities between Arsenal and West Ham. There won’t be a problem over personal matters because he respects Arteta’s approach to the game. The fact that Rice, who welcomed a child last year, would want to remain in London and be near his family is another issue. He is also aware that, in contrast to City, where competition for positions would be far more tough, he would be a regular starter at Arsenal.
In the end, there is anticipation that the negotiations will lead to Arsenal paying an amount that, when add-ons are taken into account, may approach £100 million. They must be confident that they can reach a deal with West Ham. Since they are thought to have abandoned their pursuit of Brighton midfielder Moisés Caicedo, who Chelsea is aggressively trying to sign. Kai Havertz, a striker for Chelsea, is being sought by Arsenal for £60 million.
Newcastle, Manchester United, and Bayern Munich have also made Rice a target. Bayern, though, decided to back out after realising there was little possibility Rice would move to Germany.
David Moyes’ tactical plan will change subject to Declan Rices’ departure
David Sullivan, a co-owner of West Ham, said last week that Rice would be leaving. Rice’s contract has a year left on it with the possibility of an additional year, and he has no plans to sign an extension. He assisted West Ham in winning the Europa Conference League last week. But, he’s keen to play in the Champions League and compete at a higher level.
West Ham will aim to replace Rice with two midfielders, and and they have their eyes on Edson Alvarez of Ajax, James Ward-Prowse of Southampton, and Joo Palhinha of Fulham.
A year after joining David Moyes’ backroom team, Mark Warburton has departed. However, neither party saw any negative effects from the separation. Moyes will need to expand his coaching staff, which now consists of Billy McKinlay, Kevin Nolan, Xavi Valero, and Paul Nevin, as a result of Warburton’s departure. Stuart Pearce and Alan Irvine, two of Moyes’ most dependable people, left the organisation, and Warburton was brought in.
Tim Steidten’s appointment as West Ham’s new technical director is another decision that the club is debating. Although Steidten is the front-runner, the German is not assured to get the position. The 44-year-old, who quit Bayer Leverkusen in March, has spoken with Moyes at least twice.
