Newcastle Prepares A £60 Million+ Bid For West Ham Favourite Lucas Paqueta

According to Fichajes.net, Newcastle United is interested in signing Lucas Paqueta from West Ham United and may be willing to offer more than £60 million. After some early kinks, the Brazilian finally emerged as one of the club’s main players as they won their first significant trophy in 43 years by winning the Europa Conference League.

The Hammers spent a club record £51 million on bringing him to east London last summer. Before West Ham made their offer, Newcastle had been heavily connected to the former Lyon offensive midfielder and had him as a priority target to join their Eddie Howe revolution. Eddie Howe, the manager of Newcastle, has named Paqueta as one of his top targets as the club looks to considerably strengthen its roster in preparation for its run for the Champions League next season.

The Magpies are prepared to put up more than €70 million (£60 million) for the Brazilian this summer. It is quite doubtful that Moyes would be ready to see Paqueta leave the team as well given that Declan Rice is expected to leave West Ham United this summer and that Arsenal is the front-runner to sign him.

The Hammers will undoubtedly lose two of their greatest players to major Premier League teams next season, which will be a terrible sight for West Ham United and their ambitious goals both domestically and in Europe.

West Ham Must Not Entertain Offers As They Have Many Replacements Lined On Radar

Newcastle United may be willing to pay up to £60 million for his services, but given Paqueta’s stature and importance to Moyes and—more importantly—the West Ham United fans who have grown to love him—such a deal should not be taken into consideration.

If West Ham wants to keep bringing great players to the club, it is clear that they must keep players in the mold of the 26-year-old genius. After having a difficult start to life at the London Stadium, the Brazilian maestro has been a magnificent and significant outlet recently.

If the Hammers hope to once again compete at the top of the Premier League, trading a player of Paqueta’s caliber sends the incorrect message. Particularly given that the east Londoners will participate in the Europa League the next season and that, if the Hammers acquire the monies they seek for Declan Rice, they may do so with a far stronger team than in the previous two seasons.

Although they were beaten by Eintracht Frankfurt in the previous season’s competition, their progress to the semifinals proved that Moyes understood what it required to win games in Europe. Their recent success in the sister tournament more than compensated for their sadness in not receiving the trophy.

With such a foundation, judicious acquisitions this summer will definitely put West Ham in a strong position for the future. If the Hammers entertain any bids for their Brazilian superstar, there might be a tremendous outcry in East London.
