Joao Palhinha’s Move To West Ham Has Taken An Unexpected Turn

According to reports, West Ham United has submitted a second offer for Fulham midfielder Joao Palhinha. Sean Whetstone, a journalist with close ties to David Sullivan, claims that West Ham made Fulham a £50 million bid for Joao Palhinha, which Fulham refused.

And according to Whetstone, Hammers manager David Moyes is reportedly not planning to offer any more money for the 28-year-old during the summer transfer window. The East London team has been after Palhinha all summer as a possible Declan Rice successor, but Fulham is reportedly asking for more than £60 million to sign the Portugal international. And it appears like Moyes will now need to start exploring elsewhere for new midfielders.

The former Sporting midfielder doesn’t appear to be traveling to the London Stadium. Sean Whetstone, however, asserts that it is because of Fulham’s unreasonable demands for Palhinha. Even though Palhinha is excellent, we just cannot afford to pay more than £60 million on him. For one thing, he is 28 years old and most likely only has two or three more years remaining to play at his absolute peak.

Better players exist than the Fulham player, and they would be available for less money as well. Joao Palhinha is on an entirely distinct level than many other players, and they are also more cheaper and younger than him, thus West Ham missing out on the Fulham player may really turn out to be a plus for the hammers. Fans are hoping that Moyes is able to replace Declan Rice as soon as possible with a top-notch potential signing.

Carlos Borges Choosing West Ham Over Dortmund?

Carlos Borges is allegedly rejecting Borussia Dortmund, and West Ham United is closing in on him. According to reports, Carlos Borges has decided to join West Ham United rather than Borussia Dortmund or Eintracht Frankfurt. According to the London Evening Standard, Borges is about to sign a contract with West Ham.

Borges is reportedly set to select the Hammers above the other three teams vying for his services. Borussia Dortmund, Eintracht Frankfurt, and Brighton & Hove Albion, two Bundesliga teams, are all interested in signing Borges. The winger is prepared to choose West Ham, which will feel like a significant victory for David Moyes. Borges will likely cost £14 million, and West Ham is reportedly in “advanced talks” to complete the acquisition.

West Ham was reportedly close to signing Borges on Thursday, according to Fabrizio Romano, and it now seems that a lot of teams are being passed over in the process. Although Borges is yet to play in a senior match for Manchester City, it’s difficult not to get enthusiastic about this one. There remains an element of risk involved because Borges hasn’t played at a level even somewhat comparable to Premier League level.

The 19-year-old has been a member of City’s squad for a while after playing for Sporting before. Borges, a quick left-sided winger, had an incredible season last year, scoring 29 goals and dishing out 18 assists in just 33 appearances. With his speed, talent, and goal-scoring ability, Borges is eager to make his West Ham debut. West Ham supporters will believe that Borges can have a significant influence and add something extremely unique to Moyes’ team.
