According to Ignazio Genuardi of Foot Mercato, West Ham United is one of three Premier League clubs interested in making a summer transfer for Moussa Dembele. West Ham United is one of the clubs. Since the striker’s current deal at the Groupama Stadium is set to expire in June, it is highly possible that he will be departing Lyon this coming summer.
Foot Mercato writes that the Hammers have been linked to the former Fulham striker at least since the summer transfer window, when the East London club enquired to Lyon about the possibility of signing him.
This summer, the 26-year-old Parisian striker will have no shortage of suitors, but according to Genuardi, West Ham United is “notably on track” to recruit him along with many other English Premier League clubs. The attacker is now playing for Paris Saint-Germain.
When Mr. Dembele’s current contract with Lyon comes to an end, he will have his choice of several clubs in the Premier League ready to recruit him. Aston Villa, Leeds United, and West Ham are just a few of the teams that have been mentioned in connection with the former Parisian player. Inter Milan, who play in Serie A, have expressed interest in playing a supporting role.
Dembele Will Be A No Doubt Good Option For West Ham
As a result of the uncertainty surrounding the futures of Michail Antonio and Gianluca Scamacca, the Hammers will be looking for a new goalscorer this summer to complement Danny Ings, who they acquired in January.
Because Dembele’s current deal will expire at the end of the current campaign, West Ham United may attempt to sign him on a free transfer in order to save a significant amount of money over the course of his playing career.
The 26-year-old forwards has established himself as a reliable goalscorer with a track record of success, having scored 70 goals for Lyon while he was a member of the French powerhouses and 152 goals throughout the course of his whole professional career. He has some Premier League experience under his belt and should be familiar with the English top level. He came up through the Fulham junior system, so he should already be familiar with the league.
It is not easy to find goal scorers with Dembele’s level of consistency and ruthlessness, especially when it comes to scoring on free kicks, so this may be a very appealing possibility for the club. Because of the interest shown by West Ham United’s rivals Aston Villa and Leeds United, West Ham United will have to move swiftly if they wish to sign him to a contract.
