West Ham United Sees U-turn On David Moyes’s Future Plans, With A ‘Major Component’ Behind The Decision Disclosed

Currently, it appears virtually inevitable that David Moyes will step down as West Ham United manager in the summer. Moyes came dangerously close to losing his job at West Ham earlier this season when they were fighting for survival. After being in the top three in Europe for the previous two seasons in a row, this represents a decline in fortune.

However, Moyes has been able to provide results at the ideal time to maintain his post. He recently said that he is “getting ready for next season” and “has no intention of quitting” when questioned about his future. However, a new report from Football Insider claims that after the season is over, Moyes is actually “planning to quit West Ham.”

The 60-year-old coach advanced West Ham to the June 7 Europa Conference League championship game against Fiorentina. It now appears likely to be the end of his second tenure as West Ham manager, whether he wins it or not.

Even though Moyes still has one year left on his contract, there have already been rumors that West Ham wants to fire him in the summer. However, the story claims that Moyes wants to depart “on his own terms,” presumably indicating that a resignation rather than a firing is more plausible.

He has not established the same kind of a working relationship with his current backroom staff as he had with Alan Irvine and Stuart Pearce, which is one “major factor” in his decision. As a result, if Moyes leaves as predicted, there might be additional alterations in the West Ham squad.

It’s Hard To Replace David Moyes At West Ham

As of now, it is unclear who may be in the running to succeed Moyes at the London Stadium. After an outstanding second tenure with the club, he will be a difficult act to follow. According to other reports, the Hammers are interested in Rafa Benitez, Graham Potter, and Brendan Rodgers.

West Ham have ensured their top-flight survival for another season and will be hoping to finish the season with a European championship. It would be a fitting way for Moyes to say goodbye to the club after more than 200 games in charge during his two stints in command.

In the Premier League, Moyes still has one game left to manage a road game against Leicester. As a result, even if West Ham are now safe, they will have a big impact on the fight against relegation.
