Fabio Carvalho’s condition at Liverpool looks to be deteriorating, and a recent update has offered an answer that may make the difference in getting him out. Liverpool bought Carvalho from Fulham last summer, giving them a talented young player. First, the offensive midfielder had some promising traits. But his playing time was cut short very fast.
Carvalho had only played in 13 Premier League games at the end of his first season with Liverpool, and just four of those appearances had been starts. However, during his previous season with Fulham, he started 33 Championship games out of 36 outings in the second tier. As a result, he has not progressed as expected with Liverpool.
As a result, Carvalho is considering his future. Jurgen Klopp of Liverpool admitted during his closing press conference of the year that the 2022 signing may go this summer. A loan move for Carvalho, who has a contract at Anfield until 2027, has also been considered. Various sources, however, have claimed that the 20-year-old would prefer a permanent leave.
In the meanwhile, Carvalho has been linked to West Ham and Brentford, and an unknown Champions League team has made an offer. Wherever Carvalho goes next, the agreement formula could prove to be a significant obstacle. As was previously mentioned, the player wants to be sold, but Liverpool just wants to loan him out.
West Ham Eyeing On Carvalho
According to Football Insider, Liverpool is investigating a third option: selling him but include a repurchase provision. Carvalho could be able to achieve his goal of resuming his career at other teams, such as West Ham, with greater stability.
However, Liverpool may have first dibs on any ensuing move if he starts to live up to his promise once more and they consider he may be more important in the long term. Naturally, whomever purchases Carvalho after that would have to acknowledge Liverpool’s ability to have such a buyback system in place. We’ll have to wait and watch whether another Premier League side adopts the idea.
Contrarily, Carvalho stands a decent possibility of playing in English football again the following year. He may have been given a Premier League loan by Liverpool in the past. If West Ham win the Conference League final and qualify for the Europa League next season, they may be able to offer him European football.
West Ham haven’t had enough end product from their offensive areas this season, with Jarrod Bowen leading the league scoring statistics with six goals and five assists, so Carvalho might help in that area as the Hammers look to improve on a pretty dismal total of 42 goals in 38 games.
