West Ham United Sets Sights On Summer Transfer Window With Clear Primary Objective

David Moyes is expected to remain in his position as West Ham United manager following their victory in the Europa Conference League, despite his future having come under harsh scrutiny at various points throughout the season.

Moyes, who has spent the past four years at the London Stadium in his second stint with the club, has just twelve months left on his contract. Before talks over his future led to the decision to stay, Brendan Rodgers, Graham Potter, Paulo Fonseca, and Michael Carrick had all been mentioned as potential successors to the Scotsman.

Midfielder Declan Rice, on the other hand, is expected to say farewell this summer, with chairman David Sullivan admitting that the club has confirmed to sell him even if the Englishman still has two years left on his deal.

As of right now, Arsenal is thought to be dominating the competition for Rice’s services among the “three or four clubs” that have expressed interest in the hammer, with rivals Manchester City, Manchester United, and Bayern Munich expected to challenge the Gunners. Rice is valued at £100 million.

Primary Transfer Plan As Led By Moyes

The fate of the four West Ham players—Vladimir Coufal, Manuel Lanzini, Aaron Cresswell, and Angelo Ogbonna—at the London Stadium are uncertain since their contracts are scheduled to expire this summer. Lanzini is now the player who is most likely to go, however Ogbonna is looking for a new deal.

Gianluca Scamacca, who struggled to make the expected impact in front of goal and only managed three league goals before suffering a season-ending knee injury in March, is one of the examples of few recruits to West Ham from last summer who still have something to show.

Getting the most out of the Italian 24-year-old will be a top priority for whomever is in charge next season because both Danny Ings and Michail Antonio are beyond their primes and are approaching their 30th birthdays. A replacement for Rice will be a primary priority in terms of potential additions.

Southampton captain James Ward-Prowse and Fulham center-back Joao Palhinha are two names who have been mentioned in connection with the Hammers. Another player reportedly on West Ham’s radar is Leicester City winger Harvey Barnes. The club may also want to add a new left back and center back, especially if Ogbonna and Cresswell are allowed to depart for nothing.
