Rick Karsdorp of Roma is wanted by West Ham this summer, and he may be included in a deal that sends Gianluca Scamacca to the Italian capital. According to a source from Romagiallorossa.it, West Ham and their hitman Gianluca Scamacca are looking into the possibilities of including Rick Karsdorp in the exchange.
Scamacca’s potential return to his own country is being strongly connected, and the agents of the 24-year-old are said to have already spoken with Roma representatives. Since bringing the Italy international to the London Stadium from Sassuolo in the summer of 2022, Hammers manager David Moyes has struggled to get the best out of him.
However, the club prefers to sell the striker to a buyer rather than place him on loan. Scamacca paid £35.5 million to join West Ham last summer. After an injury-marred season, the Italian switched agency and signed with CAA Stellar. Thus, Scamacca is free to leave West Ham this summer, with Roma being his most likely destination.
The goal scorer has been linked to both Milan teams, although Roma are more interested in signing him on a loan with a purchase option. Later this week, officials will resume their discussions. Nobody would be shocked if the 6’5″ striker left the London Stadium before to the start of the upcoming season. If that occurs, it appears like Moyes will make an effort to add a different player in the trade.
Hammers Eyeing For Scamacca’s Replacement By Signing Karsdorp
Romagiallorossa.it said that the Hammers are interested in 28-year-old Rick Karsdorp, a defender for Roma. Only 13 of the 18 games the three-time cap Netherlands international played for Jose Mourinho’s Roma team this season were Serie A contests.
Karsdorp averaged 1.6 tackles and 1.2 clearances per game in those league games, via Who Scored. The Roma player has a high level of energy, is an effective tackler, and moves with excellent speed. At 28, he may, however, only have a few more seasons to perform at his best.
I rather prefer Moyes to sign a player who is younger and of higher caliber, such as Aaron Wan-Bissaka or Max Aarons. The Scot has often stated his desire to use the Red Bull model to the London Stadium, but the results will speak for themselves.
Gianluca Scamacca is someone I truly hope West Ham doesn’t sell this summer, but if hammers do, I think having Karsdorp in the transaction can make it worse for the hammers. There have been rumors of a prospective trade involving Dutch right defender Rick Karsdorp, who had a falling-out with Jose Mourinho when he was the manager of Roma.
Scamacca is now on vacation but has been uploading photographs of himself working out on social media. He was in Prague last week to get a Europa Conference League medal. During the 2022–23 season, he scored five goals in the Conference League and three in the Premier League.
