According to Claret & Hugh, West Ham has informed Manchester City that it will require a price of £95.2 million to entice Lucas Paqueta away from the London Stadium. After United’s Saturday 1–1 draw with Bournemouth, in which Paqueta played the whole 90 minutes, Moyes acknowledged that any player is available if the appropriate offer is put out via, Evening Standard.
English and European champions City have already made an official offer for Paqueta, which the Daily Mail estimates to be in the neighborhood of £70 million. There have also been rumors that an upgraded offer worth more than £87 million has been made. On Sunday, Claret & Hugh stated that although discussions are allegedly underway and “both clubs are confident a deal can be done,” it would likely take much longer to sign Paqueta.
Given that Declan Rice recently left for Arsenal for £105 million, West Ham will naturally be hesitant to lose their two finest players in the same transfer window, but it is becoming more probable that will happen. The decision is ultimately up to the Irons, although Paqueta still has four years left on his current deal. If an offer of approximately £95 million were to come in, it would undoubtedly be too good to pass up.
Even with the addition of Edson Alvarez from Ajax and the rumored impending purchase of Southampton captain James Ward-Prowse [Sky Sports], West Ham would still require the addition of another player to replace Paqueta’s position. With the Brazilian among their ranks, West Ham are unquestionably a superior team, but they cannot afford to wait until the very end of the transfer window and risk missing out on a replacement.
David Moyes Is Close To Find A Replacement
Paul Nevin’s successor is almost ready, according to West Ham boss David Moyes. Along with Mark Warburton, the England coach and Hammers’ expert in set-pieces recently quit Moyes’ coaching staff. Nevin was a personal friend of David Moyes who left to become the head coach of RC Strasbourg in Ligue 1. The coaching structure of the club now has a huge gaping void that has yet to be filled.
Both Stuart Pearce and Alan Irvine have just left their coaching posts. Irvine is still working, although remotely, as an advisor in the North of England. Due to the several departures, Moyes has been searching for a new assistant.
After the 1-1 Premier League match with Bournemouth, Moyes announced that a hiring decision is imminent. The manager told the media in attendance that a fresh appointment will be announced shortly. “We’re meeting with a few people this week, and we hope to make a choice shortly”, according to Moyes.
